Under the sole inspiration of Sh Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha (Regd) & College Managing Committee, ‘Hindi Diwas’ was celebrated by the Department of Hindi of SDP College for Women. Sh Ramesh Soni, Sh Kamal Soni, Smt. Riya Soni, and Maharaj Sh. Adhyatmanand Puri Ji and Sh Kuldeep Kumar from Shree Hanumant Seva Sansthan were the Honourable Guests for the occasion. They were accorded a very warm welcome by Ms Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal and Prof. Sudesh Bhalla, Head Department of Hindi. To inaugurate the function, the lamp lightening ceremony was done as a tribute to Mother Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge. Students from various streams delivered their speech, recited poems and also gave dance performances to mark the day. Ms Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal through her words created awareness among the students regarding the importance of Hindi language and advised them to adopt Hindi as medium of their expression. She also exhorted the students to preserve the rich heritage of Hindi and feel proud in the use of Hindi as the language. Towards the end, she appreciated the efforts made by the Department of Hindi. On this occasion, the students, who showed excellent results in academic, were awarded scholarship by Soni and walia Family in the memory of Smt. Suman Walia.
