    S.D.P Educational Institutions Felicitated Independence Day

    A gala function was held at S.D.P College for Women, Ldh. here today in the college campus to mark 70th anniversary of India's independence. All S.D.P Educational institutions vizS.D.P.Sr.Sec School Hazoori Road, S.D.P. Sr. Sec .School Basti Jodhewal, Sri Om Parkash Gupta S.D.P. Model Sr.Sec. School, QuillaMohalla, Sh. Ram La1Bhasin Public School, Dugri and SDP Collegiate Sen. Sec. College campus, enthusiastically joined the celebrations. More than 5000 students of all S.D.P. institutions marched through the streets to reach the venue of celebration with tri-colour flags in their hands and raising slogans"Bharat Mata ki Jai'.


    Sh. BalrajBhasin, President S.D.P. Sabha (Regd) and College Management Committee was the Chief Guest of the day. He was warmly welcomed bySh.Lekh Raj Arora Sr.Vice-President, members of management ,Sh. Ved Prakash Gupta, Sh. Dhari Shah Singla ,Sh. MangalSen Grover, Sh. RajinderSoi, Sh. Sanjeev Gupta, Sh.Om Parkash Angrish, Sh.GulshanThakural, Sh. Virinder Gupta, Sh. Rakesh Kumar, Sh. R.K. Khurana Dy. Director, Principal Dr.Neena Aneja, Heads of S.D.P. Institutions, Sh. Jasbir Chauhan, Dr. SanjeevBindra, Ms. Sarita&Ms. Raman Obroi , staff and students. Escorted by N.C.C. cadets (3 Pb. Girls BN NCC, Ldh.), chief guest Mr.Bhasin gracefully marched forward to hoist the National Flag, while the school band played the welcome tune. As the chief guest unfurled the flag ,the National Anthem added patriotic fervor. Tri-coloured balloons were released and the National Flag swirled in its full grandeur. The students presented cultural and patriotic feast to commemorate thesweet memories and contributions of legendary heroes of Independence. . Patriotic songs, Folk Dances, Giddha, &Bhangra and Choreography on ‘Patriotism’ and `National Integration 'brought a splash of colour to the celebrations.

     

    Hon'ble chief guest Mr. Bhasin also addressed the audience on this occasion. In his message, he congratulated all present and said that the sole purpose of celebrating these national festivals is to make the students aware of the sacrifices made by legendry heroes and gallant warriors who made sacrifices and left a rich legacy that the coming generations can feel proud of .He also said that we should all pray to Almighty God to grant us strength and courage to impart valuable services to the nation like the patriots. He further said that students are the greatest asset of the nation. They must participate in extra- curricular activities apart from studies, to achieve physical and mental fitness and agility only then they can contribute to the progress and prosperity of the nation. He concluded his message with an appeal to all to perform duty honestly and sincerely. The celebration concluded with distribution of sweets among students.
