    Activities: Punjab University Zonal Youth Festival started today with a great ceremonial splendor and an amazing display of talent, vim and vigor in SDP College for Women, Ludhiana. Students from eleven participating women colleges took part in various singing competitions, providing a virtual treat to the soul. MrsSurabhiMalik, IAS, Additional Commissioner was the chief guest in the morning session.She encouraged the students of different colleges to shy away from the mindsets and create a comfortable place for themselves by hitting hard at the male bastions and strongholds. The evening session was presided over by Ms.Apneet Kaur, IAS, Additional DeputyCommissioner. She stressed on the need of Women Empowerment in the world of today so that the girls can be self-reliant and self-dependent.

    ShBalrajBhasin, President, SDP College for Women, lauded the efforts of the students and motivated the students to achieve great heights. Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director, Youth Welfare Department addressed the participants and briefed them about the rules and guidelines to take care of during the Youth Festival. DrNeenaAneja, Principal, alsoappreciated and thanked each and every one for the exertions made by them to hold the Festival. Prominent personalities from various fields of society and Principals from different colleges graced the occasion with their presence
