    • S.D.P.  College For  Women, Ludhiana organised  CDC sponsored  National  Conference  on the  Health  Status  Of  Indian  Youth- - - A challenge for the times to come here today in the college seminar hall. The conference was organized under the supreme guidance and sole inspiration of Sh.BalrajBhasin President, SDP Sahba(Regd.) and College Managing Committee. Teachers from more than 30 colleges contributed papers in this conference.
    • Dr.  Jatinder Grover, Dean, Faculty of Education, Punjab. University, Chandigarh was the key-not speaker while Dr. F.C. Shukla Retd. Prof.Food Technology, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana was the resource person of the Technical Session Iand Dr. S.S. Rawat, Yoga Consultant, D.M.C.& Hospital, Ludhiana  was the resource person of Technical Session II of the conference.
    • Dr. Neena AnejaPrincipal, M.S. Verma, Director and Dr. Ranjana Sood, Coordinator, accorded a very warm welcome to hon’ble keynote speaker Dr. Grover and resource persons.
    • The conference began with Deep Parjavalan&Shabad “Deh Shiva VarMoheEhe, Subh Karman” followed by key-note address by Dr. Jatinder Grover.
    • Dr. Grover began his address with Darwin’s TheorySurvival of the Fittestwhich is now Survival of the Fastest and moved to the main theme Healthy Lives Brighter Futuresand threw light on the factors that cause physical, mental and spiritual imbalance. He also elaborated some of the problems and ailments related to physical and mental health and concluded saying that it is only nutritional diet, yoga and yogic exercises, social activities etc. which alone can help to overcome imbalance which causes stress, depression, anxiety, alienation etc.
    • Dr. F.C Shukla declaimed upon the topic Food Technology. He began saying that food technology involves all aspects of food science including production, processing and distribution and the professionals work to improve manufacturing methods through preservation, storage and new product development. They work with food scientists to enhance the nutritional value of foods. He further said that with changes in life styles, eating habits of children & adolescents have under –gone a drastic change which has adversely affected the health and given birth to diseases like obesity, diabetes cardiovascular diseases , hypertension, hyperlipidemia, cancer etc and have also seriously affected the quality of life, survival and reproduction.
    • Dr. S.S RawatYoga Consultant, DMC & Hospital was the resource person of the valedictory session of the conference. In his address the emphasized regular physical exercise, nutritional diet, meditation and social activities which can beat stress anxiety and depression.
    • The conference concluded with distribution of certificates & vote of thanks.MsS.Verma Director, delivered vote of thanks. She thanked all present on the occasion.Sheespecially thanked the keynote speaker, resource persons and teacher participants of different colleges for sparing time from busy schedules and contributing in making this conference a grand success.

The exhibition was organized under the supervision of Ms. RoopRanjan Dharni, Almost 22 students of Fine Arts participated in this exhibition and exhibited their art and craft in form of Painting, Pots and Flower Making and Best out of Waste was another charm of this Kala Mela. The Creativity was adjudged by Ms. Navedita, Ms. Sudesh Bhalla & Ms. Damandeep. Dr. Neena Aneja, Principal also appreciated the efforts of students.

  • S.D.P. College holds Debate Contest on 6th April, 2017

    S.D.P. College holds Debate Contest

    Ldh.6th April, 2017

    S.D.P. College for Women ,Ldh. organised Sh. O.P. Gupta Memorial Inter college Debate Contest here today in the college . The contest was organised to commemorate the sweet and pious memory of Late Sh. O.P. Gupta, a social and political activist, philanthropist and freedom fighter. Mr. K.K. Dhir, Former Registrar, PTU was the chief guest on the occasion and Sh. Sanjeev Gupta son of Sh. O.P. Gupta presided over the function. The members  of the Management present were Sh. H.K. Chugh (Gen. Secretary) Ms. S. Verma (Director), Sh. Mangal Sen Grover, Sh. Dhari Shah Singla and Mr. Sanjeev Bindra. Ms. Rashmi Grover ( Retd. Prof. Govt. College for Girls, Ludhiana), Dr. Amandeep Kaur ( Prof. of Economics, G.N. National College, Doraha) and Ms. Inder Mohini ( Prof  of Hindi, Master Tara Singh College) were the judges of the contest The participants spoke  spoke for and against the motion, Will Cashless Economy work Wonders in India”.

     Principal Dr. Neena Aneja formally welcomed the chief guest and highlighted the life and achievements of Sh. O.P. Gupta. Hon'ble chief guest Sh K K Dhir awarded team trophy and cash prizes of Rs. 1000. Rs.500 and Rs. 300 to the First, Second and Third prize winner. A participation prize of Rs.200 cash was given to all participants. He encouraged the students to be bold and march ahead in their life to bring a pleasant change in their lives. He also paid tribute to Sh. O.P. Gupta, a seasoned politician and leader of masses and promoter of women empowerment who set up this college so that girls students residing in the vicinity, could avail opportunity of higher education. He congratulated the prize winners and said that it is not the prize but the participation that matters the most. Hon’ble Gen. Secy. College Management  Sh.H.K. Chugh delivered a vote of thanks.

    MAINHIGHLIGHTS:

    Havan, a very pious, religious and spiritual ceremony was organized in SDP College for Women today to mark the beginning of the new session and to invoke the blessings of Ma Saraswati so that the students and the institution attain great heights and glory, in every aspect, in the days to come. Sh. Rakesh Saraf & Smt. Meenakshi Saraf were the Yajmaan’s for the Havan ceremony. He offered his blessings to the students and motivated them to work hard and achieve distinctions in AcademicsOfficiating Principal Ms. Manju Bhashinee also gave her wishes and blessings to the students.Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President College Managing Committee felicitated the students on this auspicious occasion and motivated them to mark their journey in life with all enthusiasm and dedication. Trees were also planted by Vice President Sh. Shammi Kapoor and his son Sh. Deepak Kapoor and Members of management committee Sh. Rakesh Saraf & Smt. Meenakshi Saraf, in the college campus which is an effort to make the college environment friendly.   • SDP Institutions Celebrate Independence Day!

    MAIN HIGHLIGHTS: A gala function was held in S.D.P College for Women, Ldhto mark 70th anniversary of India's independence. All S.D.P educational institutions viz a vizS.D.P.Sr.Sec School, Hazoori Road, S.D.P. Sr. Sec .School, Basti Jodhewal,  Sri Om Parkash Gupta S.D.P. Model Sr.Sec. School, QuillaMohalla, Sh. Ram Lal Bhasin Public School, Dugri and SDP Collegiate Sen. Sec. School very enthusiastically joined the celebrations. More than 4000 students of all S.D.P. institutions marched through the streets to reach the venue of celebration with tri-coloured flags in their hands and raising slogans "Bharat Mata Ki Jai'.

    Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President S.D.P. Sabha (Regd) and College Management Committee was the Chief Guest of the day. All the members of the Management, Ms Manju Bhashine Officiating Principal, Ms Raman Oberoi, Principal, Sh. Jasbir Chauhan, Principal Dr. Sanjeev Bindra,Principal, Dr. Geeta Bhandari and Indu Khurana, accorded him a floral welcome.Escorted by N.C.C. cadets, the chief guest ShBalraj.Bhasin gracefully marched forward to hoist the National Flag, while the school band played the welcome tune. As the chief guest unfurled the flag,  the National Anthem added patriotic fervour. Tri-coloured balloons were released and the National Flag swirled in its full grandeur. The students presented cultural and patriotic feast to commemorate the sweet memories and contributions of legendary heroes of Independence.Patriotic songs, Folk Dances, Giddha, & Bhangra and Choreography on ‘Patriotism’ and `National Integration 'brought a splash of colour to the celebrations.

    Hon'ble Chief Guest Sh. Balraj Bhasin  addressed the audience on this occasion. In his message, he congratulated all present and said that the sole purpose of celebrating these national festivals is to make the students aware of the sacrifices made by legendry heroes and gallant warriors. He concluded his message with an appeal to all to perform duty honestly and sincerely and strive towards a clean, strong and vibrant India. The celebration concluded with distribution of sweets amongst the students.

  • SDP College for Women organizes Workshop on 1 Sep., 2017

    Under the guidance of the college President, Sh. Balraj Bhasin, the Cosmetology Department organized a workshop in the SDP college for women on 1 September, 2017. Ms.Manju Bhashinee, the officiating principal presided over the workshop. It was conducted by Prince Bajaj, the head faculty of 99 Academy. In the workshop, he discussed about the hair problems and their concerned solutions with the students. The students participated in the workshop with great fervor. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the officiating principal appreciated the efforts of the conducting team and encouraged the students to gain benefits from the workshop.

     

  • Ex-Tempore Speech Competition Organised at SDP College

     EVENT: Ex-Tempore Speech Competition

    MAIN HIGHLIGHTS:

    Department of Economics, Commerce & Business Management and English organised an Ex-Tempore Speech Competition on 18/08/2017 under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin ,President ,College Managing Committee. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, Principal, SDP College presided over the function. Students from different streams participated in the competition while presenting their thoughts and views on topics like ‘GST- A Game Changer or a Game Spolier?’, ‘Digital India: A Boon or A Bane?’, ‘Are humans too dependent on Computers?’ and many more. Dr.Geeta Bhandari (H.O.D.,English Department), Dr. Gurvinderjit Gill (H.O.D.,Punjabi Department) and Ms. Sudesh Bhalla (H.O.D., Hindi Department) were the judges for the competition. Nargis, Shailza and Vishu were announced winners with the First, Second and Third positions respectively. Officiating Principal, Ms.Manju Bhashinee appreciated the efforts of the students and motivated them to keep learning and participating in Public Speaking events.

    EVENT: Friendship Day

    MAIN HIGHLIGHTS:

    The spirit of comradeship was celebrated in the college on the occasion of Friendship Day under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin , President ,College Managing Committee. A collection of friendship bands and cards made by the students was exhibited as a part of competition. Also, students from different streams presented their thoughts and views on friends and friendship through poem recitation and storytelling. All the winners and participants were awarded certificates. Officiating Principal, Ms Manju Bhashinee spoke about the importance of true friendship and appreciated the efforts of the students and motivated them to keep their creativity alive and growing in different forms. Ms. Nivedita gave the vote of thanks.

  • National Sports Day Report

    National Sports Day was celebrated on 29/8/2017 at 7:30 a.m. in the College ground. The college students participated in 100 meter and 200 meter races with great enthusiasm. The event was organized by the Physical Education Department Head, Ms. Parkash Kaur Grewal and Mr. Satnam Singh. The college Principal, Ms. Manju Bhashinee honoured the First, Second and Third position holders with the certificates of merit. She also encouraged the students to keep participating in Sports.   • Awareness Campaign

    Date:30 August 2017

    Under the guidance of the college President, Sh. Balraj Bhasin, a one day NSS Camp was organized in the Gill village and nearby places on August 30, 2017 with the motive to create awareness regarding cleanliness among the people. The NSS volunteers of the college participated with great fervor. The camp also focused on the importance of following the guidelines of Swachch Bharat Mission. Ms. Ramandeep, Ms. Esha and Ms. Poonam were the executing NSS Programme Officers. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the officiating Principal appreciated the efforts of the members of NSS unit and encouraged the students to keep participating in such activities of social welfare.

     

  • Open Darbar

    Under the Supreme guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin ,President, S.D.P Sabha and College Managing Committee, First Open Darbar of new Academic session 2017-18 was conducted here today in the college seminar hall. The proceedings of  the Darbar were presided over by Sh.H.K Chugh, General  Secretary, College Managing Committee and Ms. Manju Bhashinee Officiating Principal. Students came forward and put their suggestions and recommendations in front of the Presiding Committee .They gave a patient hearing to the problems and grievances brought forward in the Open Darbar and provided solutions by giving instructions to the concerned persons. Sh.H.K Chugh addressed the students by welcoming them in new Academic session and educated them on the importance of cleanliness in and around the campus. Students also took an Oath to make the college Campus clean and green.

  • Teej Celebration

    DATE: 11 August 2017

    Teej was celebrated today with great conventional zeal, gaiety and fervour. The whole campus wore a festive look. The students attired in traditional Punjabi dresses and embellished jewellery pervaded the atmosphere. They also danced to the tunes of Punjabi folk and other songs. Contests like Mehandi, Jutti and Bangles were held on the spot.-Teeyian di Rani "a Punjabi Beauty Pageant contest was the special attraction of the festival. Students dressed in purely Punjabi costumes, decked with traditional Punjabi jewellery appeared gracefully on the ramp to participate in this contest. President, Sh. Balraj Bhasin felicitated the students on the occasion. Sh. S.K.Chugh’s sister, Ms.Anjana Arora,daughter-in-law Ms.Ridhi Chugh and daughter- in- law of Gupta family, Ms.Shama Gupta  graced the function with their benign presence. Sabha  and College Managing Committee, Teachers Day was celebrated here today in college premises.Ms. Manju Bhashinee, Principal presided over the occasion and threw light on the importance of a teacher in life through the preachings of The Bhagwad Geeta,to achieve various targets and to become a successful person. Students of the college sang songs, recited poems and gave beautiful speeches to express their deep love and respect for their teachers. All students participated in this occasion with great enthusiasm. Dr.Geeta Bhandari, gave a vote of thanks and spoke about the importance of mutual respect between teacher and student and appreciated students for their efforts.

    Under the supreme guidance and sole inspiration of Sh. Balraj Bhasin President SDP Sabha and College Managing Committee, Dept. of Commerce & Business Administration (Placement Cell) of S.D.P. College for Women, Ldh. organized a Seminar on Personality Grooming and Interview Skills here today in the college campus. Mr. Hari Parkash and Mrs. Namarta from Institute of Young Professionals, Ludhiana were the resource persons of the seminar.

    Ms. Neel Kamal Head Dept. of Commerce extended a most cordial welcome to both the speaker. Mr. Hari Parkash threw light on the various aspects of Personality Grooming and Interview Skills required at the time of cracking any interview. He also motivated the students to do efforts to be independent in their life. The seminar was followed by an interaction session. Students from Commerce and Management Dept. expressed queries and received satisfactory answers.

  • S.D.P Celebrates ‘Hindi Diwas’

Sabha (Regd.)and College Managing Committee dept. of Hindi of S.D.P. college for women, Ludhiana celebrated ‘Hindi Diwas’ here today in the college campus. Mrs. Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal presided over the occasion. Students expressed their deep gratitude and love for our national language via dance speeches and poem recitation. Mrs. Manju Bhashinee appreciated the efforts of Hindi department Prof. Mrs. Sudesh Bhalla, Mrs. Nivedita Arora, Mrs. Bharti Grover and Ms. Harpreet Kaur and said that Hindi language maintains national unity and integrity, as this language preserves our past culture and she also gave prizes to the participants and expressed a hope that students will make continues efforts to use this language in technical fields also.

Dhir, Ex-Registrar, PTC and Ex- Governor Rotary Club expressed his views on ‘The Art Of Successful Living’. He gave a very inspirational and motivational lecture and enlightened the students and coaxed them to adopt three basic things in life ‘ Learn ,Unlearn and Relearn.   • Scholarships granted to needy students in SDP College for Women

    MAIN HIGHLIGHTS: Emphasizing the cause of ‘Girl Education’, scholarships worth Rs. 1,42,000 were granted to needy students by Shri Hanumant Sewa Parivar team in SDP College for Women, Ludhiana. The members of the Shri Hanumant Sewa Parivar took a round of the premises to look at its infrastructure. Considering the future prospects of those students having weak financial background, a sum of Rs. 1,42,000 was provided to Ms. Manju Bhashinee; the officiating Principal of the college, for a bright future of the students.     Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President, College Managing Committee,The NCC department of college conducted a rally for creating awareness regarding immunization of children and its benefits under the Mission Indradhanush. NCC cadets covered the nearby areas of college like Gandhi market ,Quilla Mohala. Ms.Manju Bhashinee, the officiating Principal appreciated the efforts of NCC Cadets.She also aware NCC cadets regarding immunization of children  that vaccines saves lives and protect against the spread of diseases.

  • S.D.P. College Holds Seminar on “digital transactions”

    • Department of Economics organized  One Day seminar on “Promotion of Digital Transactions under National Digitization Campaign on Digital transaction here today in the college seminar hall. The seminar was organized under the supreme guidance and sole inspiration of Sh.Balraj Bhasin President, SDP Sahba (Regd.) and College Managing Committee.
    • Mr. Parveen Galhutra, Chief Manager, State Bank of India, Zonal Office Ludhiana, Mr. Ashwani Mahajan, Chief Manager, Daresi Road were the key-not speakers
    • Ms. Manju Bhashinee ,Principal, and Dr. Ranjana Sood, Head, Department of Economics, accorded floral welcome to honorable resource person.
    • Mr. Galhutra began his address with importance of digital transactions in day to day life. Moreover it facilities transfer of funds for 24 hours in times of emergency. It saves time and energy and avoids theft of funds while travelling. Further, he motivated the students to create awareness among the people of their surroundings about digital transaction so that they could keep pace with changing world.

  • Celebration of Cleanliness Awareness

    Date: 25 September 2017

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin , President, College Managing Committee,  Cleanliness Awareness under “Seva Parmo Dharma” was celebrated in SDP College for Women, Ludhiana on 25 Sep, 2017. NCC cadets carried out a cleanliness drive in the college and nearby areas of college campus. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the officiating principal motivated the students for spreading the message of cleanliness among the people of society.

     

  • SDP College organizes Free Medical Checkup Camp

    Dated : 26th Sep, 2017.

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President, College Managing Committee, NSS Department organized one day free Health Check Up camp for staff and students on 26th Sep, 2017 in the College campus. Mrs. Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal, presented flowers to Dr. Tasveen (B.H.M.S) and her team. Dr. Tasveen discussed various health issues. Approximately 200 staff and students of the college came for health check up. Doctors prescribed them various medicines and gave free consultation during the camp. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal advised students to take proper nutrition and healthy diet and also encouraged them for meditation. Camp was coordinated by NSS Programme Officers Ms. Esha Gupta and Ms. Poonam.

     

  •  JOINT DIWALI CULTURAL YOUTH FESTIVAL

    MAIN HIGHLIGHTS:

    A two day joint Diwali Cultural Youth Festival began here today in S.D.P. College for Women, Ludhiana amidst much exuberance. All  S.D.P. educational institutions viz S.D.P.Senior Secondary School, Hazuri Road, S.D.P. Sr. Sec.School, Basti  Jodhewal, Sh.RamLal Bhasin Public School Dugri, Sh. Om Parkash Gupta S.D.P. Sr.Sec. School, Quilla Mohalla  and SDP Collegiate Sr.Sec.School, joined these festivities.

    The whole campus wore a festive look with colourful flags, banners and rangoli designs. Students attired in gaudy clothes and latest jewellery added glamour and beauty to the festival.

    Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President S.D.P. Sabha and College Management Committee was the Chief Guest of the festivity. He was accorded a floral welcome by Sh H.K. Chugh, Gen. Secretary, Principals of SDP Institutions- Ms. Manju Bhashinee, Sh. Jasveer Chauhan, Ms.Indu, Ms.Raman Oberoi and Dr. Sanjeev Bindra.

    The function began with Jyoti Prajavalan, a sacred ceremony. Sh Ved Prakash Gupta, Sr. Member, College Managing Committee with Principals lighted the traditional lamp. The students of all S.D.P. Educational Institutions presented a scintillating cultural extravaganza of melodious songs, theatrical items, folk and state dances. Addressing the audience, Mr. Bhasin, the Chief Guest said that such joint celebrations, not only provide platform to students to showcase their talent, but is also an opportunity to get exposure along with academics. He wished HAPPY DIWALI to all and prayed for everyone’s prosperity and well-being. Towards the end, Sh. Balraj Bhasin was joined by Principals and members of the Management to reward the excellent student performers who had brought laurels to the College in fields of academics and extra-curricular activities. 

  • United India Insurance Co. Ltd. organized Essay Writing Competition

    Date- 01 November 2017

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President SDP Sabha , an Essay Writing Competition was organized by United India Insurance Co. Ltd., Regional Centre, in SDP College for Women, Ludhiana on 1 November, 2017. The theme of the competition was ‘My Aim: Corruption free India’.

    Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the officiating Principal of SDP College welcomed the esteemed guests, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Mr. Sourav Sood, Ms. Priya Sharma (Administration Officers) and Mr. Prabhjot Singh, Senior Assistant, United India Insurance Company. Around 25 students from different streams participated in the essay writing competition presenting their views in English, Hindi and Punjabi languages. The officiating Principal, Ms. Manju Bhashinee, appreciated the efforts of the participants and awarded prizes to the winners. She also gave a vote of thanks to the guests of the occasion.

  • National Youth Day

    National Youth Day celebrated

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin; President SDP Sabha, ‘National Youth Day’ was celebrated with great fervor in SDP College for Women, Ludhiana on 9-11-17. The event was arranged by ‘Red Ribbon Club’ dedicated to the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda where a Poster Making Competition was organized. On this occasion, the students expressed their thoughts and opinions on the principles of Swami Vivekananda and various social evils like Drug Abuse, AIDS, etc. Around 28 students participated in the event with much enthusiasm to create awareness. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the officiating Principal appreciated the efforts of the participants by rewarding them with prizes. She stressed while addressing the audience that the Youth is the foundation of a nation so it is very important for them to take a stand against the prevalent social evils, only then progress is possible. She encouraged them to take inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s life and lessons while congratulating the Hindi and Fine Arts Department for the successful organization of the event.

  • Punjabi Diwas

    Under the supreme guidance and sole inspiration of sh.Balraj Bhasin, President SDP Sabha and College Management Committee, ‘Punjabi Diwas’ was celebrated in SDP College for Women. 15 students participated in poetry recitation competition. Ms.Manju Bhashinee, Principal , presided over the function and highlighted the importance of mother tongue of Panjab. She motivated and appreciated the efforts of the participants.

  • Late Sh. Om Parkash Gupta Inter College Debate Contest

    DATE : 13 November 2017

              Under sole inspiration & guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President S.D.P. Sabha (Regd.) and College Managing Committee, S.D.P. College for Women ,Ldh. organised Sh. O.P. Gupta Memorial Inter college Debate Contest here today in the college . The contest was organised to commemorate the sweet and pious memory of Late Sh. O.P. Gupta, a social and political activist, philanthropist and freedom fighter. Dr. Poonam Preet, MBBS, PCS Assistant Commissioner (Grievances), Ludhiana was the chief guest on the occasion.The members  of the Management present were Sh. Shammi Kapoor, Sh.H.K.Chugh, Sh. Vijayinder Gupta, Sh. Sanjeev Gupta, Sh. Mangal Sen Grover, Principal Jasbeer Chauhan, Deepak Kapoor. Seven college teams participated in this competition. Ms. Sushminder Kaur, Dr K.K. Sharma and Dr Saleem were the judges of the contest. The participants   spoke for and against the motion, Are Demonetisation and GST the right steps towards the Growth of Indian Economy?

    Principal Ms. Manju Bhashinee formally welcomed the chief guest and highlighted the life and achievements of Sh. O.P. Gupta. Hon'ble chief guest Dr. Poonam Preet, MBBS, PCS awarded team trophy and cash prizes of Rs. 1000. Rs.500 and Rs. 300 to the First, Second and Third prize winner. A participation prize of Rs.200 cash was given to all participants. Ms. Poonam Preet said that knowledge is empowering and the students should connect with parents, teachers and society and rise in their respective careers. She encouraged the students to be bold and march ahead in their life to bring a pleasant change in their lives. She also paid tribute to Sh. O.P. Gupta, a seasoned politician and leader of masses and promoter of women empowerment who set up this college so that girls students residing in the vicinity, could avail opportunity of higher education. Ms. Poonam Preet congratulated the prize winners and said that it is not the prize but the participation that matters the most. Hon’ble Gen. Secy. Of College Management Sh.H.K. Chugh delivered a Vote of Thanks.

  • Paper Reading Activity

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President SDP Managing Committee, the Department of English, SDP College for Women organized a Paper Reading Competition on November 18, 2017 in the college premises.  The topic for the competition was Current Affairs- Social, Economic and Political.Dr. Ranjana Sood, Head of Economics Department, Ms.Neelkamal, Head of Commerce Department and Dr.Gurvinderjit Kaur, Head of Punjabi Department were the esteemed judges for the competition. Students from different streams presented their opinions on various current issues of the nation. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the officiating Principal presided over the event as the worthy Chief Guest.   • NCC Rally

                                                          Celebration of NCC Day

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President, College Managing Committee , The NCC department celebrated NCC Day in SDP College for Women, Ludhiana on 20th Nov,2017.On this occasion , NCC department organized Essay Writing Competition on the topic Drug Addiction and Role of Youth in developing economy. In this competition , all NCC cadets took participate. Beside it, NCC cadets also conducted an anti-drug rally nearby areas of college campus.Ms. Manju Bhashinee , the officiating principal and Dr. Geeta Bhandari ,Co-academic incharge appreciated the NCC department to put their best efforts to create awareness among youth.

    S.D.P. College organizes a Campus Placement Drive on 25th Nov., 2017

    Under the supreme guidance and sole inspiration of Sh. Balraj Bhasin President SDP Sabha and College Managing Committee, Guidance and Counselling Cell of S.D.P. College for Women, Ldh. organized a Campus Placement Drive for Online e-Tutors by TCY Learning Solutions (P) Ltd. here today in the college campus.

    Ms. Neel Kamal Head Dept. of Commerce extended a cordial welcome to Mr. Sanjeev Thapar, D.G.M operation and Academics, Mr. Atul Kumar, Academic Manager & Mr. Gagandeep Singh, Academic Counsellor. In the discussion they guides the students, how they can earn a handsome money by using e-resources. Mr. Atul Kumar threw light on the various aspects of the Placement of e-tutors in Mathematics and talked about the different steps of the selection procedure. He also motivated the students to do efforts to be independent in their life.

    The Placement was followed by an interaction session. Students expressed queries and received satisfactory answers. Around 50 candidates were shortlisted for the personal interview.

  • Lohri celebrations at SDP College for Women

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, SDP College for Women celebrated the Lohri festival on January 13, 2018 in the college premises. The officiating Principal, Ms. Manju Bhashinee ignited the bonfire and wished all the staff members as well as the students.

    The students entertained the audience by presenting a variety of cultural items of dance and music. Everyone including the staff and the students enjoyed the festival whole heartedly while savoring the sweetness of peanuts and gachak.   

  • Workshop by Procter & Gamble (P&G) Health and hygiene

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President College Managing Committee, NSS department organized one day workshop on “Women Health & Hygiene – Self grooming” on 19th Jan, 2018 in the college campus. Mrs. Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal welcomed Ms. Vandana Patyal and Mrs. Paramjeet Saini Campaign Manager, P&G and their team. Ms. Vandana Patyal addressed the students and gave lecture regarding personal hygiene and menstruation cycle among the female. Students asked their queries regarding menstruation problems. P&G also distributed their products as free  sample among students. Ms. Vandana also advised students to take proper nutritition and healthy diet. Camp was coordinated by NSS Programme Officers Mrs. Ramanpreet, Ms. Esha Gupta, Ms. Poonam.

  • Basant Panchami celebrations

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President SDP Sabha, Basant Panchami was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy at SDP College for Women on 22 January, 2018. The students from Music Department presented a Saraswati Vandana with the melodious tunes of Sitar. The whole college was filled with the air of peace and spirituality.

    Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the officiating Principal prayed to Maa Saraswati for the well being and prosperity of all. She also emphasized on the importance of prayers for students in daily routine.

  • Poetical Recitation Competition

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President SDP Sabha, the English Department of SDP college organized a Poetical Recitation Competition on 24 January, 2018 in the College Campus. Students of B.A, B.A.B.Ed, and B.Com took part in this competition. They all recited their poems very confidently. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the officiating Principal was the Chief Guest. The competition was adjudged by Dr. Geeta Bhandari, Head of the English Department. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the officiating Principal appreciated the students for their efforts and also encouraged them to participate in all co-curricular activities.

  • Nail Art Workshop

    Under the guidance of Shri Balraj Bhasin, President SDP Sabha, the Cosmetology Department of SDP College for Women organized a Nail Art Workshop on 25 January, 2018 in the college premises. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the officiating Principal inaugurated the workshop.

    Around 15 students participated in the workshop with great enthusiasm. The students displayed their talent and creativity by painting beautiful designs on the nails of teachers and students who were present at the workshop.

    MAIN HIGHLIGHTS:  Republic Day was celebrated in SDP College for Women under the able guidance of Sh. Balraj K Bhasin, President, SDP College for Women and SDP Sabha . A gala function was held at S.D.P College for Women, Ldh. here today in the college campus to mark the 69th anniversary of India’s Republic Day. All S.D.P educational institutions viz S.D.P.Sr .Sec School  Hazoori Road, S.D.P. Sr.Sec, School Basti Jodhewal, Sri Om Parkash Gupta S.D.P. Model Sr. Sec. School, Quilla Mohalla, Sh. Ram Lal Bhasin Public School , Dugri and SDP Collegiate Sen. Sec. School, enthusiastically joined the celebrations. More than 5000 students of all S.D.P, Institutions marched through the streets to reach the venue of celebration with tri-colour flags in their hands and raising slogans “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.

    Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President S.D.P, Sabha (Regd) and College Management Committee was the Chief Guest. He was warmly welcomed by Sh. Lekh Raj Arora, Sr. Vice- President, , Sh HK Chugh, Gen Secy  Members of Management, Sh. Dhari Shah Singla, Sh.Mangal Sen Grover, Sh. Rajinder Soi, Sh. Gulshan Thakural, staff and students . Escorted by N.C.C, cadets, the Chief Guest Sh. Bhasin gracefully marched forward to hoist the National Flag, while the school band played the welcome tune. As the Chief Guest unfurled the flag, the National Anthem added patriotic fervour and national spirit to the occasion.The students presented cultural and patriotic feast to commemorate the sweet memories and contributions of legendary heroes of Independence.  Patriotic songs, Folk Dances, Giddha  and Bhangra and Choreography  on ‘Patriotism’ and ‘National Integration’ brought a splash of colour to the celebrations.

    Hon’ble chief guest Sh Balraj K .Bhasin  addressed the audience. In his message, he congratulated all present and said that the sole purpose of celebrating these national festivals is to make the students aware of the sacrifices made by legendary heroes and gallant warriors who made sacrifices and left a rich legacy that the coming generations can feel proud of. He appreciated the architects of the Indian Constitution who gave us a wonderful Constitution to rely on. He also apprised the students about 26 Jan 1930 when Late. Pt  Jawahar Lal Nehru kept the foundation of present day Indian Republic.

  • Seminar on Job Opportunities

    Under the supreme guidance and sole inspiration of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President SDP Sabha and College Managing Committee, Guidance and Counselling Cell of SDP College for women, Ludhiana organized a seminar on ‘Various Job opportunities available in Govt. sector’ here today in college campus.

    Mr. Shambhu Tiwari, Director, Institute of Banking Training, Feroze Gandhi Market, Ldh, Mr. Inderjit Singh, Administrative Development Officer and Ms. Kajal, A.D.O. cum Counsellor were the resource persons of the seminar.

    Ms. Neelkamal, Head, Dept. of Commerce, Ms. Reena Matta, Assist. Prof. in Commerce, Mr. Ajay Kumar, Head Department of Maths, Mr. Vishal Goyal, Head Department of Computer Science extended a cordial welcome to the speaker.

    Mr. Shambhu Tiwari threw light on the various job opportunities available in govt. sector and explained the process of cracking various competitive exams like Bank PO, Clerical, Insurance, SSC, Railways and other govt. entrance exams. He also touched basic important aspects of personality development and women empowerment. The seminar was followed by an interactive session. Students from different streams expressed queries and received satisfactory answers. They also took away insightful thoughts and learnings from the session.

    Ms. Manju Bhashinee, officiating Principal of the college also graced the occasion and thanked the resource persons for making students aware of the process of securing government jobs.

     

  • Open Darbar Session held

    Open Darbar Session organized at S.D.P. College for Women

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President S.D.P. Sabha & College Managing Committee, an open interactive session was held at S.D.P. College for Women on 1 February, 2018 to provide fastrack solutions to the problems being faced by students in their day-today life in the college campus. The proceedings of the session were presided over by Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the officiating Principal of the college and Ms. S. Verma, Director conducted the session.

    The presiding committee gave a patient hearing to the problems and grievances brought forward in the open session and provided solutions by giving instructions to the concerned persons and also gave assurance for the speedy redressal of grievances in future. Ms. S. Verma also gave them some insights on the history of college along with tips on civic sense and solutions for maintaining discipline in the college. The Session concluded with a vote of thanks to Ms. Verma presented by Ms. Manju Bhasinee.

  • Students represented SDP College for Women in Mumbai

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President SDP Sabha, two students from SDP College for Women represented the college in the National Blind Cricket Tournament held at Mumbai from 15- 19 January, 2018.  The names of the students are Babu Khan and Vishal Kumar. Both of them are students of B.A. 1st year. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the officiating Principal congratulated both the students.

     

  • Slogan Writing Competition

    Under the able guidance of Sh. Balraj  K Bhasin, President, SDP College for Women, a Slogan Writing Competition was organized by B.A. B.Ed. Department  on 5th Feb 2018 in the college premises.   • Extention Lecture on History Development and Organisation of Yoga

    Under the able guidance of Sh. Balraj K Bhasin, President, SDP College for Women, an extention lecture was organised by the Physical Education Department on 17th  Feb. 2018 in the college premises. Mr. Arjun Tiwari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Yoga, (B.A, B .P .Ed), N.I.S Patiala addressed the students. Mrs. Manju Bhashinee, the Officiating Principal, Ms. Parkash Grewal (Head of Physical Education Department) and Mr. Satnam Singh, Astt. Prof. gave a floral welcome to the guest. Mr. Arjun spoke on ‘History Development and Organisation of Yoga’. He guided the students and staff  of  SDP College for Women with Yoga Aasanas and highlighted the importance of good health. He also emphasized on the adverse effects of Stress on human life and how Yoga is helpful in it. A trained student of NSNIS Patiala showed the physical demonstration of Asanas of Yoga. Mrs. ManjuBhashinee, the Officiating Principal honoured the guest. Ms.Parkash Grewal, (Head of Department of Physical Education Department) appreciated his efforts and showed gratitude for making students aware about Yoga.

  • Free Medical checkup camp organized in college

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President College Managing Committee, N.S.S. Department organized a one-day free health checkup camp for students of NCLP (National Child Labour Project) school on 27th Feb. 2018 in the college campus. Mrs. Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal, presented a bouquet of flowers to Dr. Tasveen (BHMS) and her team members. Dr. Tasveen discussed about the various health issues. She examined near about 40 students of various classes especially from 1st standard to 5th standard.  The Doctor prescribed them various medicines. She also advised the students to increase the intake of green vegetables in their lunch and dinner. Mrs. Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal advised school students to take proper nutrition & healthy diet. She also appreciated the efforts of N.S.S. Program officers Ms. Ramanpreet Kaur, Ms. Poonam and Ms. Esha Gupta for organizing the one day free medical checkup camp for needy students.

  • Annual Sports Day

    SDP College for Women Ludhiana, wore a  very festive look on its 49th Annual Athletic Meet,  which was held today i.e. 7th March 2018, amidst much fervour, gaiety and exuberance, under the guidance of   Sh Balraj Kumar Bhasin, President SDP College and Sabha (Regd) .

     Sh Lekh Raj Arora, Vice-President of the college, the Chief Guest for the inaugural session. He unfurled the college flag, took salute from spectacular March past contingents, lighted the torch, released balloons and declared the meet open.

     Dr Surjeet Singh Thakur , Deputy Registrar, General Branch, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the chief guest for the closing session. More than 800 students presented  PT show, Aerobics exercises to the tune of the music and beat of the drum. The students actively and enthusiastically participated in all events like 50 mts race, 100, 200 & 400 mts race.

    Offg. Principal  Ms. Manju Bhashinee gave a floral welcome to the Chief – Guest. she showed her gratitude to the honourable guest for giving their precious time and inspire students with their presence.

  • Women Day

    Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Department of Social Sciences celebrated International Women Day under the direction of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP College for Women and Sabha (Regd). The students presented extempore speeches on women empowerment and also recited poems on the occasion. The students were motivated and sensitized by the teachers on the gender issues. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal presided over the function and stressed on the fact that everyday should be celebrated as Women Day. Dr Geeta Bhandari, IQAC Coordinator motivated the students to be brave and courageous and walk on the path of righteousness. The teachers of the college, Dr. Ranjana Sood, Dr. Shikha Mishra, Ms. Mandeep and Ms. Anmol also shared their personal views and experiences motivating the students to be strong and confident in everyday situations of life.

     

  • KALA MELA

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President SDP College and Sabha (Regd.), the Fine Arts Department of SDP College for Women organized a ‘Kala-Mela 2018 Exhibition’ on 15th March, 2018 in the Fine Arts Department. Around 22 students of Fine Arts participated and exhibited their talent through Oil Paintings, Posters, Landscapes and Craft items made out of waste material.

    Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the Officiating Principal inaugurated the Exhibition. Dr. Ranjana Sood and Mrs. Nivedita Arora were the judges for the Exhibition.     Mr. H.K. Chugh gave a patient hearing to the problems and grievances brought forward by the students in the open session and provided solutions by giving instructions for solving them.   • Extension Lecture of Hindi

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President S.D.P. Sabha and College Managing Committee, an Extension lecture was organized by the Hindi Department of SDP College for Women on March 20, 2018 in the college premises. Prof. Dr. Mukesh Arora, Head of the Hindi Department, SCD Government College for Boys, Ludhiana was the Honourable Speaker for the occasion. The Offficating Principal, Ms. Manju Bhashinee along with the staff members of the Hindi Department, Ms. Sudesh Bhalla (Head), Ms. Nivedita Arora, Ms. Bharti Sareen and Ms. Harpeet Kaur gave the Chief Guest a floral welcome and presented a token of respect.

    Prof. Dr. Mukesh Arora gave an insightful lecture on the ‘Importance and Value of Hindi Language in Modern Times’. He stressed that students can gain job opportunities in the fields of Banking, Print and Electronic Media Journalism, Teaching, Administration, etc. by getting qualifications in the Hindi language.

    Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the Officiating Principal, expressed her gratitude and passed the vote of thanks to the Chief Guest of the occasion.

  • TREE PLANTATION DRIVE

    Under the sole guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President SDP College and Sabha (Regd.), a Tree Plantation Drive was initiated by the B.A.B.ED. Department of SDP College for Women on 21st March, 2018. The students of B.A.B.ED actively participated in the Programme. Students planted various types of plants around the college premises.

    Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the Officiating Principal was the Chief Guest for the event. She made the students aware about the importance of Tree Plantation and said that Tree Plantation can reduce global warming which is the main reason of climate change.

  • Oath Taking Ceremony

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP College and Sabha (Regd.),

    ‘Youth Empowerment Day’ was celebrated as per the guidelines of Nodal Officer, Anti Drug Cell,Punjab State Government, in SDP College for Women on 23 March, 2018 with great enthusiasm. This date marks the death anniversary of freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru. The students took the solemn oath of ‘Making India, a Drug free Nation’ under the banner of Drug Abuse Prevention Officer. The ceremony was driven with the motive to create awareness on the rising cases of youth getting trapped in the vicious web of Drug Abuse.

    Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the Officiating Principal encouraged the teaching as well as non-teaching staff to honour their pledge by joining hands towards making this mission a success. 

  • Extension lecture by Dr. Charanjit Singh

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President S.D.P. Sabha (Reg.) and College Managing Committee, an Extension lecture was organized by the Career Counselling and Guidance Cell of SDP College for Women in the college premises on April 13, 2018. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Charanjit Singh, Centre Head, Khan Study Group (KSG) Ludhiana along with his team. He gave a PowerPoint presentation on ‘Preparing for IAS exam’ to the students. Through his lecture he informed the students about various prospects in the field of Civil Services sector. He also gave insights about the VSAT technology that their centre has adopted to impart quality education for the benefit of local students who cannot afford to go out of the city for preparation. The students listened to the lecture attentively and asked various questions about preparation and examination of Civil Services.  Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the Officiating Principal, expressed her gratitude to the team for their efforts.

    Under the guidance of Sh. BalrajBhasin, President S.D.P. Sabha (Regd.) and College Managing Committee, by an Extension lecture was organized by the Mathematics Department of SDP College for Women in the college premises on April 17, 2018. The lecture was delivered Dr. Vanita Verma, Professor in Mathematics Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh who has done PhD. from IIT, Delhi. Ms. ManjuBhashinee, the Officiating Principal gave a floral welcome to the Guest Speaker. Dr. Vanita Verma spoke on the subject of ‘Optimisation Theory’ also known as the modern term for Operations Research. She highlighted the applicability of this theory as a methodology of making something (like design, system, decision) as fully perfect, functional or effective as possible, specifically in the mathematical procedures. The students listened to the lecture attentively and asked various questions related to the theory discussed.  Ms. ManjuBhashinee, the Officiating Principal passed the vote of thanks.

  • Farewell Party

    Under the supreme guidance and sole inspiration of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President SDP Sabha (Regd.) and College Management Committee, a farewell party was organised for the students of B.A./B.B.A./B.Com/B.C.A./PGDCA in SDP College for Womentoday. Jolly smiles and high spirits marked the farewell. The students of second year bade adieu to the final year students of the graduate classes. The Chief Guest of the function, Ms. Manju Bhashnee; the Officiating Principal was given a floral welcome by the organisers. The occasion witnessed a variety of splendid performances like singing, dancing, modelling, etc. by the students. The Judges of the modelling round were Dr. Ranjana Sood, Ms. Preeti and Ms. Sonia.

Balraj Bhasin, President SDP Sabha (Regd.) and College Management Committee, a farewell party was organised for the students of M.Com, M.Sc (Maths), in SDP College for Women on 30 April 2018. Jolly smiles and high spirits marked the farewell. The students of First year bade adieu to the final year students of the Post Graduate classes. The Chief Guest of the function, Dr. S.M. Sharma, Director and Ms. Manju Bhashinee, The Officiating Principal were given a floral welcome by the students of M.Com and M.Sc. Maths. The occasion witnessed a variety of splendid performances like singing, dancing, modelling, etc. by the students. The Judges of the modelling round were Dr. Geeta Bhandari, Ms. Neel Kamal, and Ms. Kirandeep Kaur.  

     

    Ms. Manju Bhashinee, The Officiating Principal, wished the outgoing students to attain great heights in the times to come. She also motivated them to continue a dedicated approach to academics as well as co-curricular activities.

  • Seminar on Investor Awareness: Capital Market

    A seminar on Investors Awareness in Capital Market and Financial Management was organized in SDP College for Women on 2nd May, 2018. The office bearers of Ludhiana Retail Investors Association Col Jagga, President, S PS Gill, Secretary, Mr RK Kapoor, Finance Secretary and Mr Thakur were welcomed formally by Dr SM Sharma, Director, SDP College for Women. Dr Harjit Singh was the key-note speaker on the occasion. He spoke on the various risks involved in investing in the Capital Market and advised on the various issues pertaining to investments in mutual funds. Ms Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal thanked the guests and encouraged the staff to manage their finances carefully for future.

  • SDPian Rukmani bags First Position in Panjab University Examination

    It is a matter of pride and honour that Km Rukmani of SDP College for Women bagged first position in Panjab University BA Semester III Exam and secures 353 marks out of 400. She owed all this to her hard work and motivation by the teachers. Sh Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP College for Women appreciated the efforts of Rukmani for making the institution proud of her achievement and wished her to attain greater heights in the times to come. Ms Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal congratulated the student and wished her a bright and successful   future.

  • Hawan & Tree Plantation 2018-19

    Under the guidance of Sh Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP College for Women, the opening of the new session was marked by performing Hawan- a spiritual and religious ceremony to seek blessings of God Almighty. Sh Rakesh Saraf, Member of the Management and his wife Meenkashi Saraf were the Yajmans for the Hawan ceremony. They were accorded a warm welcome by the Officiating Principal, Ms Manju Bhashinee and Sh SM Sharma, Director, Administration. They exhorted the new enrolled students to work hard and excel in life. They also blessed the students and guided them to imbibe the principles of diligence, punctuality and discipline to achieve success in life. The Members of the Management also planted saplings in the college

  • Friendship Day 2018-19

    SDP College for women, Ludhiana celebrated the Friendship Day under the direction of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President, College Managing Committee on 6th august, 2018. A collection of Friendship bands and cards made by the students of various streams was exhibited as a part of competition. Students also put up brilliant speech, poetry and songs to celebrate the friendship day. The function was presided over by the Officiating Principal, Ms. Manju Bhashinee. Mr. S.M. Sharma, Director  was the Chief Guest. Dr. Gurvinder Kaur, Dr. Ranjana Sood, Smt. Nivedita Arora were the judges for the competition.

  • Open Darbar 2018-19

    Under the able guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha and College Managing Committee, First Open Darbar of new Academic session 2018-19 was conducted on 8 August, 2018, in college campus. The proceedings of the session were presided over by Dr. S.M. Sharma, Director and Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the Officiating Principal, SDP College. The Students put forward the problems being faced by them in college where they were provided immediate solutions by giving instructions. They were also given assurance for the speedy redressal of grievances in future. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the Officiating Principal, welcomed the new enrolled students in college and also made them aware about the cleanliness in and around the college campus.

  • 15th August Celebration 2018-19

    SDP College for Women, Ludhiana celebrated 72th anniversary of  India’s Independence with great nationalistic fervour. All SDP educational institutions viz a viz SDP Sr.Sec School, Hazoori Road, SDP Sr. Sec .School, Basti Jodhewal,  Sri Om Parkash Gupta SDP Model Sr.Sec. School, Quilla Mohalla, Sh. Ram Lal Bhasin Public School, Dugri and SDP Collegiate Sen. Sec. School jointly celebrated the day with great enthusiasm. Almost 5000 students of all SDP institutions, with tri-coloured flags in their hands and raising slogans "Bharat Mata Ki Jai' celebrated the day.
     

  • Teej Celebration 2018-19
    SDP College for Women, Ludhiana organised a Teej Mela on 21st August with great cultural, aesthetic and traditional fervour. The students dressed up beautifully in Punjabi traditional attires and embellished jewellery pervaded the atmosphere. They also danced to the tunes of Punjabi folk and other songs. Various competitions such as Mehandi, Jutti, Paranda and Bangles were held on the spot. “Teeyian di Rani” a Punjabi Beauty Pageant contest was the source of attraction. Students dressed in purely Punjabi costumes, decked with traditional Punjabi jewellery appeared gracefully on the ramp to participate in this contest. Sh  H K Chugh’s wife Mrs. Kiran Chugh and Daughter-in-law of Gupta family, Mrs Shama Gupta graced the function with their benign presence. Ms Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Prinicipal appreciated the efforts of the students and told them to participate in such functions to associate themselves with the culture.
     
  • Placement Cell 2018-19

    Under the supreme guidance and sole inspiration of Sh. Balraj Bhasin President SDP Sabha and College Managing Committee, Department of Commerce and Business Administration ( Guidance and Counseling Cell Report)  of SDP College For Women, Ludhiana organized a extension lecture on Stress Management here 29th August in the college campus. Mr. Surya (Verbal Head and Interview trainer) from Triumphant Institute of Mgt. educations Ltd., was the resource person of extension lecture.

    Ms. Neel Kamal Head of Department of Commerce extended a most cordial welcome to the speaker. Mr. Surya threw light on the various aspects of Stress Management. He suggested the ways to control the stress. The extension lecture was followed by an interaction session. Students from Commerce and Management Department, and Education Department expressed queries and received satisfactory answers.

  • Creative Writing 2018-19

    Under the sole inspiration of Sh. BalrajBhasin, President, SDP Sabha (Regd) & College Managing Committee, a Creative Writing Competition was organised by the Hindi Department of SDP College for women, Ludhiana on 31st August.Ms ManjuBhashinee, the Officiating Principal, Presided over the occasion. Smt. SudeshBhalla, Head of the Hindi Department, Ms NiveditaArora, Ms ParminderKaur, Ms Deepika and Ms HarpreetKaur welcomed the Officiating Principal, Ms ManjuBhashinee. Nearly 24 students participated in this competition and exhibited their creative skills. The students presented their views on various topics like Drug Abuse and Declining Human Values.

  • Hindi Diwas 2018-19

    Under the sole inspiration of Sh Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha (Regd) & College
    Managing Committee, ‘Hindi Diwas’ was celebrated by the Hindi Department of SDP College
    for Women on 14th September . Sh Ramesh Soni, Sh Kamal Soni, Smt Sunita Soni and Sh Sandeep Soni and Maharaj Adhayatmanand Puri were the Chief Guests for the occasion. Ms Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal and Prof. Sudesh Bhalla, Head of Hindi Department accorded a warm
    welcome to the Chief Guests. To inaugurate the function, all the dignitaries lighted the lamp as a
    tribute to Mother Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge. Students from various streams
    participated with full fervour by reciting Hindi poems and delivering speeches. Ms Manju
    Bhashinee, Officiating Principal appreciated the efforts made by Hindi Department and said that
    Hindi language represents our culture. She further said that promotion of Hindi language must be
    a matter of respect for all Indians. On this occasion, the students, who showed excellent results in
    their academic, were awarded scholarship by Soni and Walia family in the memory of Smt
    Suman Walia.

  • Open Darbar September 2018-19

    Under the able guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha and College Managing Committee, an Open Darbar was conducted in SDP College for Women on 18th September, LDH. The proceedings of the session were presided over by Sh H.K. Chugh, General Secretary, College Managing Committee, Dr. S.M. Sharma, Director and
    Ms. Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal. The Students came forward and put their problems in front of the presiding committee. They gave patient hearing on the problems and provided solutions by giving instructions to the concerned persons. Sh. H.K. Chugh, General Secretary, made the students aware about the
    cleanliness in and around the college campus.

  • Fresher’s Party 2018-19

    Under the sole inspiration of Sh Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha (Regd) & College Managing Committee a Fresher’s Party was organised for the new enrolled students in SDP College for Women 6th September.The students showcased their talent through dance performances and mesmerized the audience. Ms Manju Bhashinee, the Officiating Principal presided over the occasion. The ‘Miss Fresher’ contest included several rounds of catwalk, introduction and talent display. The students gave scintillating dance performances. Smt Neel Kamal, Dr Ranjana Sood and Ms Nivedita Arora were the judges. Ms Manju Bhashinee,  Officiating Principal applauded the talent of students and said that such occasions boost confidence and morale of new students and help them to get acquainted with their teachers and seniors.

  • Extension Lecture on 'Civil Services' 2018-19

    Under the supreme guidance and sole inspiration of Sh.Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha & College Managing Committee, Placement and Career Counseling Cell of SDP College for Women, Ludhiana organized an extension lecture on 'How to prepare for Civil Services' here on12th September in the college premises. Dr. Charanjit Singh & group from ETEN The Venture of Career Launcher was the resource person of extension lecture.

    Dr. Ranjana Sood Head of Department of Economics extended a most cordial welcome to the speaker . Dr. Charanjit Singh threw light on the various aspects of Civil Services. He suggested the ways to prepare for Civil Services examination. The extension lecture was followed by an interaction session. Students from Commerce and Management Department , and Education Department expressed queries and received satisfactory answers.

    Ms. Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal also graced the occasion and thanked the Key Speakers for making the students aware about the 'Civil services examination'.

  • Extension Lecture on 'Learning: Concept and Theories' 2018-19

    Under the sole inspiration of Sh Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha (Regd) & College Managing Committee, an extension lecture was organised by BABED Department of SDP College for Women, Ludhiana ON 13 thSeptember. Dr. Mohua Khosla, Assistant Professor, Malwa Central College of Education for Women, Ludhiana was the resource person. Ms Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Principal and Dr Shikha Mishra, BABED Department accorded a warm welcome to the Key Speaker. Dr Mohua Khosla delivered an interesting and thought provoking lecture on ‘Learning: Concept and Theories’. She said that learning is a constant process, which involves learning to live, to socialize and to behave. She further made the students aware about its importance and said that learning helps in becoming more efficient and helps to attain great positions in life. A former Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr Shikha Mishra, BABED Department, who thanked the revered speaker for delivering a useful and thought provoking lecture

  • Extension Lecture on 'Mobile Addiction' 2018-19

    Under the sole inspiration of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha & College Managing Committee, Guidance and Career Counseling Cell of SDP College for Women, Ludhiana organized an extension lecture on 'Mobile Addiction' on 17 th September in the college premises. Mr. Gaurav Datta, Territory Manager in Information Center, Ludhiana, (Amity University), Ms. Chandni, Manager Information Center, Ludhiana, (Amity University) and Mr. Sikander Singh, Assistant Manager  Information Center, Ludhiana, (Amity University) , were the Key Speakers. Ms. Manju Bhashinee accorded a warm welcome to the Key Speakers. Mr. Gaurav Datta, Ms, Chandni made the students aware about the 'Mobile Addiction'. They cleared the concept of  'Mobile Addiction'. They explained the pros and cons of using mobile phones. They  also told that how can we come out from this addiction. The extension lecture was followed by an interaction session. Miss Saloni (Student of M.Sc – I) is honored by Amity Education Group for active participation.  Students from different streams expressed their queries.   • Extension Lecture on 'Artificial Intelligence' 2018-19

    Under the able guidance of Sh Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha and College Managing Committee, a workshop on ‘Artificial Intelligence’ was organised by The Computer Department of SDP College for Women on 3rd October, Ldh. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Prinicpal, accorded a warm welcome to the Noteworthy Speaker S. Mandeep Singh, TIMTS, Lodhi Complex. S. Mandeep Singh addressed the students about Robotics, Internet of Things (IOT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He also created awareness among students about the importance of Modern Computer Technology in day today’s life. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, Officiating Prinicpal thanked the Noteworthy Speaker for giving such valuable information to the students.

    Management Committee, a two-day Joint Diwali Mela was organized by SDP College for Women on 30th October amidst full zeal and zest. All SDP Educational Institutions viz. SDP Sr. Sec. School, Hazuri Road, SDP Sr. Sec. School,Basti Jodhewal, Sh.Ram Lal Bhasin Public School Dugri, Sh. Om Parkash Gupta SDP Sr.Sec. School, Quilla Mohalla and SDP Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, joined these festivities. The whole campus wore a festive look with colourful flags, banners and dazzling rangoli designs. The students attired in ostentatious clothes and embellished jewellery added glamour and beauty to the festival. Sh Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Counsellor, inaugurated the morning session with Deep Prajavalan. Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha & College Managing Committee was the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony. He was accorded a floral welcome by all Principals and Members of Managing Committee.The students of all SDP Educational Institutions unfolded their talent through melodious songs, group dance and theatrical items. The students held the audience spellbound with their scintillating performances. Addressing the audience, Sh. Balraj Bhasin, the Chief Guest said that such joint celebrations, not only provide platform to students to unfold their talent, but is also an opportunity to get exposure along with academics. He wished HAPPY AND PROPEROUS DIWALI to all. He also pleaded for safe and eco friendly Diwali. Sh H.K. Chugh Gen. Secretary thanked the Chief Guest, Sh. Balraj Bhasin for his auspicious presence and motivating words.

  • Extension Lecture on Job opportunities in Insurance sector 2018-19

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President S.D.P. Sabha (Regd.) and College Managing Committee, Department of Commerce and Economics of SDP College for Women organized an extention lecture on Job opportunities in Insurance sector on Nov. 05, 2018. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Vishal Kapoor, Branch manager, Exide Life Insurance and his team. The objective of the lecture was to make the students aware about the various career opportunities in Insurance sector. Mr. Vishal kapoor interacted with the students and satisfied their
    queries. Ms. Manju Bhashinee, the Officiating Principal thanked the guests and advised the students to avail the opportunities available in insurance sector and plan their career accordingly.

  • Essay Writing 2018-19

    Under the guidance of Sh. Balraj Bhasin, President S.D.P. Sabha (Regd.) and College Managing Committee, and with the co-operation  of Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi, United India Insaurance Company Ltd. , Regional Office Ludhiana , Youth Club , N.C.C and N.S.S , Organised an Essay Writing Competition in SDP College for Women Ludhiana on Nov. 02, 2018. Sh Sanjeev Kumar , Vigilance Officer , Smt. Shamma Arora Mittal , Legal Officer , Sh. Prashant Johri, Regional Engg. were the note worthies . Students presented their views on the Eradication of Corruprtion and make India new. Around 51 girls participated in this competition. Ms. Manju Bhashinee ,Officiating Principal presided over the occasion. Students also took pledge for the eradication of corruption.
